Cubmaster Minute
Hello, and welcome to Pack 420! I’m Cubmaster Martin and if you visit our pack, you’ll probably see me telling a joke, or acting in a silly skit. Scouting is fun, and I hope you have the chance to experience it!
At the end of a pack meeting or campout I give a brief “Cubmaster Minute”. This is a short time of reflection, where I try to get the scouts to think about themselves, each other, and the world around them.
The “minute” should really be no longer than a minute! Whether we ran around for an hour or paid attention for an hour, the scouts don’t really want to sit still to listen to a speech. So, I try to provide a brief thought-provoking question and, ideally, a relevant example. For example, comparing the outdoors to the scout’s bedroom, and how they want it to be taken care of, shows that we should be good stewards of nature.
