Patches and Awards
Advancement, progress, and recognition are important to scouting! Every year, scouts work on skills that are appropriate to their age group. For example, 1st graders learn basic first aid, 3rd graders learn knife safety, and 4th graders learn fire safety.
For working on and achieving each of these skills, we recognize the scout’s effort by awarding them with patches and belt loops to wear on their uniform. Being recognized for their hard work in front of their peers is a huge motivator!
